Seed and Grain Readiness and Response Incorporated (“SGRR”) is a biosecurity entity for the arable sector established in 2020 under the Government Industry Agreement for Biosecurity (GIA). The organisation was set up in a consultation process with arable growers, processors and merchants to prepare and respond to incursions posing a threat to seed and grain crops.
Our members are Seed & Grain NZ (SGNZ), United Wheat Growers of NZ (UWG), Foundation for Arable Research (FAR), Federated Farmers Arable Industry Group and the New Zealand Flour Millers Association (NZFMA). These organisations are represented on the Board of SGRR, tasked with governance of the biosecurity activities for arable and maize crop production, partnering with other sector groups and MPI biosecurity.

The Biosecurity (Response -Arable Crops Levy) Order 2023 was enacted in May 2023 under section 100 ZB of the Biosecurity Act 1993
